Welcome to the first newsletter of 2020.

A special welcome to all of our new and existing families – we are so glad that you are part of the GBC community!

We have had an amazing start and it is fantastic to see so many happy kids bringing life to the College. Like always, I am proud to see our inclusive, nurturing community, making new students feel part of things from day 1.

I would like to introduce our new staff members, which you will have opportunity to meet, if you haven’t already, on Thursday evening at our Welcome BBQ (Thursday 13 February 2020 at 5:30pm).

Dr Ian Kanini – Design and Technology and CE; Josephine Fidow – English and Drama; Megan Henderson – Year 5; Mun Bowen – LOTE (Mandarin); Dana Knuppe – PE; and Laihcey O,Brien – Science. Joining us soon to share PP - Aliesha Davies.

We look forward to your valuable contribution as we serve the community together, nurturing and equipping each person for life!

Our theme for 2020 is the Year of Celebration. GBC has been in existence now for 20 years. We look back and see the heartbeat of the ministry, from its humble beginnings on the KBC church premises to the vision that it is becoming today. Looking back is important, as we can see what God has done in and through Goldfields Baptist College. There have been many challenges to overcome, times of uncertainty in the town, changing curriculum requirements, budget constraints and the transience of the community. Yet in all that, God has provided. We give thanks for His provision, be it new staff, buildings, families, resources and even creating positive change.  We look to the past as we head into the future – being careful not to run ahead or fall behind of what He has in store this year.

As always – my door is always open and I encourage you to pop in for a chat, to give feedback or even for a cuppa!
